Spring 2019

Research part of ATLAS BAJÍO

Learning from the image of El Bajío

This seminar focused on re-interpreting what is the image of El Bajío. The goal is to question/challenge the region's current status quo and to map and reveal the region's role within Mexico's geo-economic structure at the start of 2019.

To achieve this, we mixed academic research methodologies with the empirical knowledge of the seminar's members. The seminar's outcome built an architectural narrative. It helped to inform about the physical conditions of three fundamental characters of the city: the urban fabric (and its architectures), the infrastructure (for flows), and the hydrology (human and non-human made).
