Shaped Places

2018

with McLain Clutter, Cyrus Peñarroyo, Michael Admoin

From the authors:

Shaped Places of Carrol County New Hampshire speculates on the complex reciprocity between who we are and the shape of where we live; between identities and the built environments that support them. The project culminates in the design of three linear cities in Carrol County New Hampshire, a state whose shape may be retinally burned into the minds of some audiences due to its perilously purple hue until late into election night 2016. Much like the gerrymandering that arguably produced the results of the latter, this project seeks to geometrically organize population at a geographic scale to carefully prescribed ends.
